Who We Are

We're a team of passionate dog lovers who believe every pup deserves a second chance. That's why we started Jersey Dog Rescue - to expand our reach and give more dogs the loving homes they deserve. At JDR, we're more than just a rescue; we're a family forged in a shared commitment to dogs in need. Having dedicated countless hours in rescue, we witnessed incredible transformations and heartbreaking challenges. Inspired by the dogs and driven by the desire to make an even bigger impact, we united to create Jersey Dog Rescue.

MEET THE TEAM

LAUREN

Growing up, I was the BIGGEST dog lover. Spending time with my dogs or other people's dogs was always my happy place. To this day, my favorite thing is being outside with my three dogs. We enjoy hiking, spending time in the water, visiting dog-friendly restaurants, and exploring new places. I know firsthand how much joy and love dogs bring into our lives, and I believe EVERY dog deserves the chance to experience that same happiness and love.

In addition to adopting my own dogs, I have fostered numerous dogs over the past few years and helped many find their forever homes. I'm excited about Jersey Dog Rescue because I'll be working with a great team that always puts the dogs first. JDR will work as hard as possible to help as many dogs as we can, in whatever way they need assistance.

ASHLEY

I have always wanted to help animals. From a young age, I dreamed of having a career where I could work with horses, dogs, or other animals. As I grew up, I always had small animals. I began a career in law enforcement and had the opportunity to spend years with working K9s,which is why high drive working dogs are my favorites! I also started volunteering with non-profit rescues from the age of 16 until now (many years (decades!) later.) Over the years, I have fostered 20+ dogs and currently have 4 amazing dogs of my own now -- 3 rescues and 1 retired working dog. They are 2 German Shepherds, a Labrador, and a Bloodhound 😃

After helping with temperament tests and finding fosters and adoptive homes for more than 100+ dogs over the last few years, I decided to join forces with like-minded people (who are also some of my best friends!) to create Jersey Dog Rescue. This has been a passion of mine since I was a child, and I look forward to helping the less fortunate dogs that genuinely need the help of JDR.

MARISSA

I have been rescuing dogs for 20+ years. I started rescuing because I love to help animals that need me. I currently have a rescued pit bull named Gia. She is from Puerto Rico and came to NJ during hurricane Maria. She is my whole world. The reason I am excited about JDR is because I know I’m working with a team who love to help all animals that need a fresh start and I can’t wait to see the success stories that come from us.

MEGAN

I am passionate about this rescue because I love helping dogs in need, with whatever need arises. Whether by providing food, toys, necessary items, or even just a walk, I am looking forward to working with JDR to save dogs and providing a safe ‘furever’ for them.

Also, I love coming home from a long day at work and seeing my dog Charlee! It really puts the biggest smile on my face!! She is a miniature poodle who I have had the honor of rescuing as an adult dog years ago.

With JDR, I will be able to help other dogs by adopting them out to families that will love them. Watching them run, be safe, and healthy in their new homes will make me so happy.
